La Course 2016 is a one-day women's professional road race held on July 24, 2016, in Paris, France. It is an annual event that was first held in 2014 as a one-day race on the final stage of the Tour de France. The race is organized by the Amaury Sport Organisation, the same company that organizes the Tour de France.
The 2016 edition of La Course featured a 89 km (55 mi) course, starting and finishing at the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris. The race consisted of ten laps on a 8.9 km (5.5 mi) circuit that included iconic landmarks such as the Louvre and the Arc de Triomphe.
The race was won by Dutch cyclist Anna van der Breggen, who attacked from a breakaway group in the final lap to win by a margin of six seconds ahead of her compatriot, Annemiek van Vleuten. It was van der Breggen's first victory in La Course, and she went on to win the gold medal in the women's road race at the Rio Olympics two weeks later.
Overall, La Course 2016 was a highly competitive and exciting race, showcasing the best women's professional cycling talent from around the world.
